Where on earth are we going?? (John Masters)

Last century saw two world wars, the invention of the atomic bomb, the development of the internet, and the rise of worldwide radical Islamic terrorism.

Now, at the opening decade of the 21st century we stand poised in uncertainty as to our future, and wonder what we can do to avert ecological disaster after spending the last 150 years inflicting abuse upon this sorry planet.

Some still have the rainbow dream of everything eventually getting better, with utopia being just round the corner, but for most of the thinking population, that pretty idea is something left over from a happy ‘hippy’ past.

Even ‘New-Ageism’ is loosing its appeal as followers find that moving pieces of furniture to different places in their homes, or wearing cheap gun-metal charms and chanting mantras to themselves has no power whatsoever to alter the spiralling plunge of man’s greed and selfish ambitions. Burning incense-laden candles and staring into crystals, or worshipping ‘mother nature’ can never rid this world of poverty, sickness, and death.

It seems that everyone senses that ‘something’ is going to happen, and to the majority that ‘something’ is more likely to be very bad rather than good..

The world’s population continues to grow, with India facing the prospect of having more souls to feed within its borders by 2020 than China. Inscrutable China openly seeks to become the great world power with her growing prosperity and her ability to raise an army of 200 million soldiers. Russia is throwing billions into rearming itself once again for what it believes will be the criteria for survival in the coming years. The Middle East remains the boiling pot readying itself for the next epicentre of military aggression. Everyone seems to want to own a nuclear bomb, or two or more.

Britain’s leaders however have decided at this time to savage its military forces, just to make the bank balance look more appealing to the general population! And then over the last few years gave the bored and unsatisfied population the right to consume as much alcohol as they wish at any time they want – only to complain when they discover that the number one problem in Britain is intoxicated teenagers and young adults! On top of that this same government decided that they would create a gambling society just to give everyone the ‘feel good’ factor! Then they complain about the moral bankruptcy and selfishness of this same generation!.

In India thousands of baby girls are butchered ever they see the light of day, just because they are girls and not boys! In America and Great Britain and Europe countless numbers (millions) of little lives are savagely ‘terminated’ (murdered) every year just to grant people an uncomplicated lifestyle, not realising that that is where the confusion actually begins.

Technology and the steady stream of natty inventions keeps us all amused, and each passing gimmick is quickly replaced by yet another with an extra button or brighter colour! ‘Must have’ makes sure that we buy the latest gadget, appliance, or vehicle, and helps to comfort us and keep away the haunting question, ‘What about the future?’ .

The clever people behind cameras roll out an endless stream of ‘entertainment’ – comedy, soap operas, and silly films that show America as the messiah of the world and the saviour of mankind. From the terrorist plot to blow up a plane, to the impending geological disaster that threatens the very existence of humanity, the super hero is always there at the end to redeem us all!

It is however interesting to note that many of these films revolve around the theme of a frightening future with foreboding, horror and worldwide disaster.

And the heroes that make everything alright and allow us to breath a sigh of relief at the end? Well, they are the Americans, of course!

Hmmmmmmm………… There were two great towers in New York not so long ago……

Japan, France, North Korea, Iran, Pakistan, India, Russia, China, etc., all have secret tales to tell, and all have questionable futures to play out.

And Great Britain? Well, here at the hub of the world a nation lies under siege. Not from armies without, but from aggressors within. Aggressors who entered subtly under a cloak of friendship and goodwill, but who now seek to hurt and pull down the fabric of a nation that was the birthplace of worldwide dreams and aspirations, that changed continents and peoples, and delivered a universal language to the farthest extents of the planet. On this very soil of missionary effort that had such success and impact throughout the world, this false and cruel enemy, this Prince of Persia, this Islamic unholy spirit seeks to dismember a great and noble people who he fears, lest they ever get themselves holy with God again.

So where on earth are we all going?

Nowhere really. Just round in circles, waiting for the inevitable, surviving, exploiting, inventing, accumulating; lonely, diseased, crippled and dying; spiralling downward, not upward.

The future?.
Well, some still live in fantasyland, but truth is we mostly do not like to look too far ahead – because we don’t like the look of the truth.
Hopefully we will die in ‘peace’ without having to go through too many nightmares.

Somebody once said to watch out, ‘when they cry peace, peace’, for then comes sudden trouble and destruction.

..

Oh, and here’s another thought: so you manage to steer clear of too many horrors in life, and manage to get yourself a ‘decent’ sort of death (ho!ho!), you know, the sort where you just go to sleep and don’t wake up……..

The thought?

Oh, yes, - so what happens after you die, and find out that death is not the end?..

Hmmmmmm…….. Someone also said, ‘It is appointed to everyone once to die, …….. but after that there is the judgement.’ YE-OUCH!

Ooooooooooh! Don’t want to think about negative thoughts like that!

EXACTLY!

Only the fool says to himself, ‘There is no God’.

Even Darwin has now discovered the folly of such thinking..

Jesus said there would be wars and rumours of wars, kingdoms rising against kingdoms, and nations rising against nations. He spoke of worldwide catastrophes and rampant diseases, of earthquakes and geological upheavals worldwide..

He spoke of trouble and distress amongst the nations leading up to a terrible war that will ultimately be the last one this planet will ever see. (Most people already know it as Armageddon). .

The Bible speaks of a world ruler that will rise. Following a universal economic collapse (perhaps caused by the deliberate failure of the worldwide web), he will offer peace and prosperity and a central banking system for complete security to a devastated generation brought to its knees.

Nobody will be able to work or use a bank account, or do business or buy or sell unless they come within his system. This leader will insist that everyone carries a code within their body, either on their right hand or on their forehead, which though invisible perhaps, can easily be scanned and will of course be the best protection against identity theft and fraud.

Well now, isn’t that clever!.

If you refuse to take the mark you will ultimately starve to death or be killed.

If you accept this mark you will be cursed forever and never be able to change your destiny..

There is one bit of good news however!.

Jesus Christ said whoever believes on Him will be delivered and given eternal life (everlasting life!).

Sounds a bit too good to be true? He actually promised to return to this world to save every person who truly believes in Him, and who puts their hope and trust in Him.

You can hope that America can save this world from its certain future – or you can put your faith in God and give your life and future to His Son Jesus Christ.

‘Better to trust in God, than to put confidence in man’ – even if he be a prince or a president!.

Actually, Jesus said that He could return at any time. If you are ready you will live with Him forever.

If not, you will be left behind to face the future and the judgement day of God.

No matter what happens in this world, there are but two possible destinies awaiting every single one of us:

- Eternal life with Jesus Christ.

- Eternal torment without hope in a place called Hell.

Change your destiny TODAY by giving your life to Jesus Christ.
